Wine Lover's Delight ~ Staying cool in Sizzling Seattle

When faced with record breaking temperatures in the tripple digits, what's a girl to do in a house with no AC? Forget the shopping, a cool beverage and some pallet cleansing fare will do me just fine. The Traveling "paper" Art Doll Symposium's (TADS) Doll No. 3 toured the wineries of the Northwest this week when Heidi added her creative style to the project with this magnificent journal entry. Thank you Heidi, I enjoyed the story.

Today I went wine tasting. It's so beautiful to walk into a winery with its fresh flowers, colors, scents and of course wine! I sipped both the white and red, 5 different kinds, sampled salty, crunchy crackers and bits of cheese in between each pour.

The wine maker was there explaining how they grow the grapes, which varieties are best and what food is best paired with each wine. I learn so much about wine when I go tasting. One of my favorite parts is to try and guess the other flavors that make an appearance along with the grapes such as black cherry, currants, sage, chocolate and any number of other tastes and smells. Then I try to see if it matches the description on the label. Sometimes I even get it right! All in all, one of my favorite days and I am thrilled to be able to share it with you. It's official, I'm a wine lover.

Cheers!

You Are the Dancin' Queen ~ Doll No. 4 Shines in the Golden State

The Traveling "paper" Art Doll Symposium's (TADS) Doll No. 4 became the dancin' queen of the golden state last week when Barb added her magic and creativity to this ongoing project. She even added illustrated ankles complete with dancing shoes. OMG! How perfect is this? Thank you so much Barb. I am deeply appreciative for your participation. :)

She was our queen, our rose, our star; And then she danced ~ O Heaven, her dancing. ~Winthrop Mackworth Praed (1802 - 1839)

However far the journey may take my Queen, she will find the music and she will DANCE!!!

Surf's Up! ~ Doll No. 2 Hits the Beach

The Traveling "paper" Art Doll Symposium's (TADS) Doll No. 2 spent some time on the beaches of the beautiful Pacific Northwest recently and she has a new name. Keep reading to find out what it is.

I finally arrived at my new destination ~ Seattle, Washington!!

It was very exciting as I walked up the sidewalk to Victoria's home, and as she opened the door we both squealed with delight at finally getting to meet! We sat down over a cup of tea, as I was so jet lagged after my exciting trip to Paris and becoming a Georgia Peach so to say.

Of course what could be expected here for my stay??? THE BEACH!!! As you can see by my tan lines, or maybe lack of (tee hee), we took a trip to the ocean! What beautiful shores they are here in Washington, but I must admit . . . the water, though beautiful, was sooo very COLD! Of course before we could go to the beach WE HAD TO SHOP! I had to have all the right things for my beach attire. You will see my picture here with my favorite color! I am sad to leave this beautiful place in the Northwest, but I have new adventures to go on so off I go to Springfield, PA to visit my new friend Heather!!! See you in a few days! Fond farewell to my new friends in Washington.

Hugs and Love,
Patience
xoxoxo

Thank you so much Victoria, for participating in the magic and for adding a little piece of your creative spirit to this ongoing project. I am deeply appreciative not to mention dazzled by this perfectly lovely beach scene.

Create the Life of Your Dreams ~ TADS Doll No. 5

The Traveling "paper" Art Doll Symposium's (TADS) mailed out the 5th and final doll and journal on Wednesday, July 15th. She is off to Michigan for her first adventure.

All creation begins with desire. If you can dream it, this universe has the ability to give it to you. Artistic journaling and affirmations are a perfect way to begin your journey. This is the place where dreams take shape, where the images of the mind come together through photographs, drawing, collage, paint or whatever artistic means feels right for you.

By creating pictures of how your dreams look, you can create the feeling of having those things now each and every time you gaze upon your journal pages. After awhile, even a short while, you will start to see the things in your journal, take physical shape in your life. What will you fill your dream life with?

The price is right on everything in the store at the Affirmations Boutique, no charge. There is always a wide variety of affirmations in stock for me to choose from, all of which fit me beautifully. You see, this is a magical boutique where the affirmations change to suit each guest as perfectly as if they were custom tailored with precision and sent with love straight from the heavens above as her gift to us. I'll tell you a secret, they were!

This is the place I come back to when I am in need of a gentle word, to outfit my heart with wings or send my spirit soaring. This is the place where I am always, unconditionally loved, never judged and eternally, blissfully free.

I love spending my days following my bliss by acting on all the ideas which spark passion and excitement within me.

I always have more than enough time to spend creating my art.

My art is a perfect reflection of my beautiful self, I am enough.

I am an effervescing fountain of original and creative ideas. Now I leave you to come up with some of your own.

When graphic design meets collage what you discover is an array of vibrantly blooming possibilities. Whoever said you can't have it both ways never looked long enough to realize that there is a creative solution to everything. Let your imagination soar and never again be stuck in that rut.

I hope you will enjoy this video on the making of the Affirmations Boutique journal page. This has truly been an exercise in creative thinking and one I am so very proud of.
